LGU workers hurt as pickup falls into ravine in South Cotabato

Two government workers survived after the red pickup truck they were riding fell into a ravine along a slippery stretch of road in Silway-7, Polomolok, South Cotabato on Saturday, July 27, 2025.

According to police, both passengers were employees of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Malapatan, Sarangani Province. They were en route to Cotabato City from Malapatan when the accident occurred.

Investigators said the pickup lost control due to the wet road conditions brought on by rainfall. The vehicle slid and fell directly into a ravine in the area.

Emergency responders confirmed that the two LGU workers are now in stable condition and are currently recovering in a nearby hospital.

Rescuers expressed their gratitude to concerned citizens who quickly called for help, allowing them to respond in time.

The Traffic Management Unit of Polomolok is still investigating the incident to determine the full circumstances surrounding the crash.
