Jimmy Butler joins Warriors in blockbuster NBA trade

Jimmy Butler is now a Golden State Warrior after a major five-team trade involving the Miami Heat, Utah Jazz, Detroit Pistons, and Toronto Raptors.

As part of the deal, NBA champion Andrew Wiggins and rookie guard Dennis Schröder will head to the Utah Jazz. Meanwhile, Wiggins and PJ Tucker will also join the Miami Heat.

The trade marks a major shift for the Warriors, adding Butler’s veteran leadership and scoring power to their lineup. In addition to the trade, Butler signed a two-year contract extension worth $121 million, keeping him in Golden State through the 2026-2027 season.
