House InfraComm to request copies of ‘Cabral Files’ from DPWH

Congress is reportedly planning to request copies of the Cabral Files from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) next week.

At the Saturday News Forum, Bicol Saro Party-list Representative Terry Ridon said they will formally request the documents from the DPWH.

Ridon said that if the files were provided to the Office of the Ombudsman, there should be no reason why they cannot also be given to the House Committee on Infrastructure and the House Committee on Public Accounts.

The lawmaker explained that they are not aiming to debunk the copies of the documents that were earlier made public by Batangas First District Representative Leandro Leviste.

He said they simply want to obtain the files as part of their official records.

At present, only the Office of the Ombudsman has custody of the computer software containing the Cabral Files.
