Hong Kong fire death toll rises to nearly 160

The number of reported fatalities from what is now considered the deadliest fire in Hong Kong continues to climb.

According to local police, the death toll has reached 159 and may still increase.

Authorities explained that the figure is not yet final and may change further as “suspected human bones” found at the site still need to undergo forensic testing.

Meanwhile, people mourning the tragedy continue to visit a small park near the fire site in Tai Po.

They bring flowers to honor and remember the victims.
