Major General Jose Maria R. Cuerpo II, commander of the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division, awarded Sgt. Kem T. Tacayon with the Wounded Personnel Medal (WPM) at Camp Evangelista Station Hospital.
Sgt. Tacayon, a member of the 1st Special Forces Battalion, was injured in a clash with the communist terrorist group in Sitio Balaudo, Brgy. Binicalan, San Luis, Agusan del Sur, on November 2, 2024.
The ceremony took place at the 4ID Headquarters in Camp Evangelista, Brgy. Patag, Cagayan de Oro City. Along with the WPM, Sgt. Tacayon received financial and in-kind assistance to support his recovery. The event highlighted the dedication and bravery of soldiers in defending the nation.
