Father and son gunned down in broad daylight attack

A father and son were tragically killed in an apparent targeted shooting in Colacling, Lupi, Camarines Sur, on Wednesday, when two unidentified men approached their eatery and opened fire.

According to initial reports from the Lupi Municipal Police Station, the elder victim, identified only as “Desederio,” was watching television in the family’s small eatery when two men on a motorcycle stopped outside. Without warning, the suspects fired multiple shots at him through the open entrance. Hearing the gunshots, his son rushed out to help, only to be met with gunfire from the assailants.

Both father and son sustained fatal injuries, leading to their deaths on the scene. Police say that the shooters immediately fled the area on their motorcycle, leaving the community in shock and fear.

Law enforcement has launched a hot pursuit operation in hopes of locating the gunmen, who remain at large. Police have yet to identify any motive or suspects, though investigators are working to uncover any leads that may reveal the reason behind the deadly attack.
