A father and his son tragically died after being electrocuted in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, in a shocking accident that has stunned the local community.
The victims, ages 55 and 25, encountered the fatal mishap in Barangay Nabalian, according to the Himamaylan Police Station. Reports indicate that the son was on his way home carrying a water container when he accidentally came into contact with a live wire hanging from an electrical post. Witnesses said he was immediately incapacitated by the electric shock.
The father, upon noticing his son lying motionless, hurried to his aid. In a tragic turn of events, he also touched the live wire, resulting in a similar fatal shock. Both father and son were rushed to the hospital; however, doctors pronounced them dead on arrival.
Local authorities have not disclosed further information about the cause of the live wire exposure or whether other residents are at risk of similar hazards. It remains unclear if maintenance efforts had been made to secure the wire or prevent such accidents.
