A man was arrested after allegedly killing a woman he mistakenly believed to be his wife in Barangay San Jose, Caraga, Davao Oriental.
Police identified the suspect as Jelmer, a resident of the area. Authorities said he was intoxicated when he arrived home and, in a drunken rage, attacked the woman, thinking she was his wife. He reportedly suspected her of infidelity.
After the attack, the suspect realized he had killed the wrong person. In a panic, he placed the victim’s body in a sack and threw it into the sea in an attempt to cover up the crime.
Local police quickly apprehended Jelmer following an investigation. Authorities are still working to identify the victim, whose body was discovered earlier inside a sack.
The case remains under investigation as law enforcement officials gather more details about the incident.
