DepEd Employees to Receive Performance-Based Bonuses This Year

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has assured that the Fiscal Year 2023 performance-based bonus (PBB) for employees of the Department of Education (DepEd) will be released within the year.

In a statement, Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman said that after thorough deliberations, it was confirmed that DepEd personnel, particularly teachers, are eligible to receive their PBB for 2023.

She explained that the move is in line with President Bongbong Marcos’ directive to recognize the contributions, hard work, and dedication of the education sector in strengthening the country’s education system.

Meanwhile, the Technical Working Group is set to meet next week to formally issue a resolution declaring DepEd eligible for the said bonus.

It may be recalled that the DBM earlier approved the release of ₱1.64 billion for the 2023 PBB of more than 110,000 qualified officials and employees of the Philippine Army.
