DepEd chief Angara thanks teachers following end of SY2025–2026

Sonny Angara, Secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd), expressed his gratitude to teachers following the end of School Year (SY) 2025–2026.

The summer break for public school teachers officially began today, after the formal closing of the academic year yesterday, March 31, 2026.

In a statement, Angara encouraged teachers to use this time to rest and recover from months of academic work, teaching, and responsibilities.

He also extended his appreciation to educators for their dedication, compassion, and quiet heroism inside the classrooms.

As the academic year concluded, DepEd emphasized that teachers remain at the center of its efforts to improve the quality of education and expand learning opportunities nationwide.

The agency also said it has conducted consultations and school visits to directly hear the concerns of teachers.
