Actor David Chua has caught the attention of social media users after defending his “girlfriend,” Sophia Moretti, who was later revealed to be an artificial intelligence-generated character.
Chua explained that creating Sophia began as a social media experiment.
He first introduced Sophia on Instagram in September, sharing photos that portrayed them as a couple.
However, some netizens questioned whether Sophia was real, citing her seemingly flawless appearance.
Chua later clarified that Sophia was entirely created using artificial intelligence.
The actor said the project was a form of creative expression and an occasional escape from reality.
He also believes AI can help creative individuals bring their ideas to life, even with limited budgets and resources.
Despite the unusual experiment, Chua stressed that he has not given up on finding true love and remains open to the possibility of a real-life relationship.
