Davao hit-and-run kills mall bagger,  police hunt driver of black pick-up

A fatal hit-and-run incident claimed the life of a motorcycle rider and injured another at around 1:00 a.m. on April 25, 2025, at the intersection of R. Castillo Street and Arroyo Street, Davao City.

According to the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), the motorcycle, heading toward Agdao, was struck by a black pick-up truck bearing plate number LAK 1077, which came from J.P. Laurel Avenue en route to Arroyo Street. The impact threw both riders off the motorcycle.

The driver, identified as Junriel Adlao, 37, mall bagger and a resident of R. Castillo Street, was declared dead on the spot by Central 911 responders. The attending physician of SPMC’s Out-Patient Department, officially declared him dead.

The back rider, Sicily Aro, 35, mall cashier and residing in Brgy. 23-C, Davao City, sustained serious injuries. She was rushed to the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) by 911 personnel.

The driver of the black pick-up fled the scene immediately after the collision. A follow-up investigation is ongoing to identify and apprehend the suspect.
