Cyclist dies in Davao Coastal Road hit-and-run

A 70-year-old cyclist was killed in a hit-and-run incident along Coastal Road in Davao City on Friday evening, September 26, 2025.

Police identified the victim as Domingo Morales. He sustained severe injuries after being struck by a black multicab with an unidentified plate number around 7 p.m. near the Bago Aplaya Playground.

Initial police reports said the multicab, driven by an unidentified male, was traveling from Talomo Cemento Road toward MacArthur Highway when it hit Morales’ bicycle. The collision caused the victim to crash onto the pavement.

Morales was rushed by 911 paramedics to the Davao Seventh-day Adventist Hospital. Attending physician later declared him dead on arrival.

Authorities reported that the multicab driver fled the scene immediately after the accident and remains unidentified. The victim’s bicycle was brought to police custody for safekeeping and investigation.
