Cousins shoot each other over parking dispute and Facebook posts

A heated online exchange and a parking dispute between cousins led to a deadly shootout Wednesday morning, April 23, in Barangay Bolinawon, Carcar City.

The incident left one cousin, known as “Alias Tisoy,” 34, dead, while the other, identified as James, was injured and is now under police custody.

According to Tisoy’s wife, Maria, the conflict started when Tisoy’s friend parked in front of James’ store on Tuesday. James became upset, prompting a confrontation that escalated online with both parties exchanging tense Facebook posts.

The following morning, Tisoy reportedly stepped outside with his cellphone when gunfire broke out. Initial reports suggest he fired first, but James retaliated, striking him fatally.

Maria also disclosed that a day before the shooting, James argued with Tisoy’s mother over not warning him that he was allegedly under drug surveillance—an incident Tisoy tried to calm down.

Authorities are continuing the investigation while James remains in custody.
