A couple riding a multicab was killed after their vehicle was hit by a pick-up truck on Friday, June 13, in Purok 5, Barangay Cabangahan, Siaton, Negros Oriental.
The victims were identified as Jose, 42, a government employee, and Janice, 44, a daycare worker. Both were residents of Barangay Mayabon, Zamboanguita.
The driver of the pick-up was identified as Anastacio, 82, from the town of Bacong.
Based on the initial investigation by the Siaton Municipal Police Station, the two vehicles were traveling in opposite directions. As the pick-up approached a curved section of the road, Anastacio reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to crash into the multicab.
All three involved in the accident were immediately brought to the hospital. However, the couple died due to severe injuries.
Police have confirmed that the investigation is still ongoing to determine further details of the incident.
