Authorities arrested a couple accused of operating a drug den in Barangay Cogon, Tagbilaran City, Bohol during a joint operation on January 23.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Bohol Provincial Office, Tagbilaran City Police, and PNP Maritime Police conducted the raid at around 12:30 p.m., apprehending Roel, 45, and Marjorie, 48. The unemployed couple allegedly maintained the den in their residence.
Authorities also apprehended Edmon, 44, an alleged visitor of the drug den. Confiscated from the couple were 11 sachets of suspected shabu valued at P81,600.
According to investigators, the couple had been under surveillance for a week. Evidence revealed they distributed approximately 25 grams of shabu weekly.
Charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared against the suspects.
The arrest highlights the persistent efforts of law enforcement agencies to dismantle local drug operations. The raid reinforces the government’s commitment to combating illegal drugs in the province.
