A 27-year-old police officer died in a road crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck in Barangay Duyong, Pandan, Antique.
The fatality, a patrolman assigned to the 2nd Antique Provincial Mobile Force Company, was a resident of Ajuy, Iloilo.
His 28-year-old companion, who was riding pillion, sustained injuries and is currently being treated at a hospital.
According to the initial investigation by the Pandan Municipal Police Station, the motorcycle and the pickup were traveling in opposite directions. The motorcycle reportedly crossed the center line and collided head-on with the oncoming pickup, driven by a 47-year-old man.
The impact caused severe injuries to the officer, which led to his death.
Authorities said the investigation is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.
