Comelec targets reopening of voter registration in Feb 2027

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is looking to resume voter registration activities for the May 2028 national and local elections in the early months of next year.

This was announced by Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia following the seven-month voter registration period for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) scheduled on Nov. 2, 2026.

In an interview, Garcia said they have already discussed the possibility of reopening voter registration in February 2027.

He expressed hope that those who were unable to register earlier, as well as individuals who wish to participate in the next Sangguniang Kabataan elections in 2030, would take the opportunity to register.
