The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) – Negros Island Region (NIR) has warned national candidates and partylist groups to stop violating common poster area regulations or face disqualification.
COMELEC-NIR Regional Director Attorney Lionel Marco Castillano said election officers are reporting these violations to COMELEC Manila, which then issues notices of violation.
If candidates or partylist groups keep violating the rules, COMELEC will file disqualification cases against them.
Castillano emphasized that COMELEC strictly prohibits campaign posters on trees, electric posts, and public structures.
He urged candidates to place their materials only in designated areas or on private properties with the owner’s permission.*
