While most people struggle to hike mountains on foot, a 38-year-old Chinese man is defying gravity—climbing using only his hands!
Sun Guo Shan began practicing handstand climbing in May 2023, setting an ambitious goal: to conquer 50 famous mountains in China by spring 2025.
His viral fame skyrocketed in November 2024 when a video showed him scaling Haibat, the highest peak in Wudang Mountain at 1,612 meters, using only his hands.
Taking his challenge further, in December 2024, he climbed the 999 steps of Tianmen Mountain in Hunan Province while in a handstand position, completing the feat in five hours.
According to Sun, this was his 34th mountain climb, and by far the most difficult—causing him to fall nearly 100 times before reaching the top.
With just a few climbs left, he is determined to complete his 50-mountain goal this spring and apply for a Guinness World Record.
