Cebu woman killed, husband Injured in witchcraft dispute

Tragedy struck Sitio Kinamagan, Barangay Poblacion, Borbn, Cebu when a 64-year-old woman was killed and her husband severely injured after being ambushed by a neighbor allegedly accusing them of witchcraft.

Maria and Berto (both 64) were on their way to fetch water when the gunman, identified only as “Naldo,” reportedly attacked them. According to Borbon Police Chief PCPT Gerry Antopina, Berto, despite his injuries, managed to identify Naldo as the shooter.

The assailant allegedly believed the couple had bewitched his child, who suffered recurring headaches. Neighbors claimed Naldo had been throwing stones at the couple’s home and threatening their lives before the attack.
