Businessman busted in Mandaue with ₱10.2M worth of shabu seized

A buy-and-sell car dealer suspected of peddling drugs was apprehended in a buy-bust operation by the City Intelligence Unit of the Mandaue City Police Office.

The suspect, identified as Reymond, 42, a resident of Sitio Bugwak, Barangay San Vicente, Liloan, Cebu, was tagged as a high-value individual (HVI) in the illegal drug trade.

Authorities seized 1.5 kilograms of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of ₱10.2 million during the operation. The illegal drugs were reportedly set for distribution in the region.

The operation, conducted at around 8 p.m., was the result of weeks of surveillance. Police said Reymond’s involvement in the illegal drug trade had been under investigation following intelligence reports linking him to high-volume drug transactions.

Charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are now being prepared against Reymond.

This operation highlights law enforcement’s ongoing battle against the illegal drug trade in Cebu, with authorities calling the seizure a significant blow to drug distribution in the area.
