Argument over handheld radio pushes Tanod to stab colleague in Negros

A male Barangay Tanod sustained injuries after his colleague stabbed him in Sitio Balan, Barangay San Agustin, Isabela town in Negros Occidental, around 4 pm on Thursday, December 26, 2024.

The victim, 33-year-old Ryan Villa, allegedly faced an attack by 47-year-old Ronald Garsola, also a Barangay Tanod and a resident of the same community.

According to town police, the altercation started after a heated argument between the two men over a handheld radio, with the suspect reportedly intoxicated at the time.

The argument escalated when the victim went to the market, where the suspect confronted him and stabbed him in the right side of his abdomen. Authorities swiftly transported the victim to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Meanwhile, the police apprehended the suspect, and he is now in police custody for further investigation.
