Abra Police seize illegal firearms in series of raids

Authorities seized multiple firearms and ammunition in a series of search operations across three locations in Bangued, Abra, on March 14, 2025.

Personnel from the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU)/Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) of Abra PPO, in coordination with Bangued Municipal Police Station (MPS), Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU)-14 PIT Abra, Regional Intelligence Division (RID) PRO CAR, RMFB 1504th MC, and 1st and 2nd Abra PMFC, executed three search warrants for violations of Republic Act 10591, also known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

The first operation was conducted in Brgy. Cosili East, Bangued, where authorities confiscated a Caliber .38 Smith & Wesson revolver, four live rounds of ammunition, and a black sling bag. In a separate raid at Sitio South, Brgy. Calaba, Bangued, law enforcers arrested a male suspect and seized a Para-Ordnance Caliber .45 Pistol (Model 1911), multiple magazines, live ammunition, tactical gear, and holsters. In the third operation at an unnamed location in Bangued, officers recovered a Colt MK IV Series 80 Caliber .45 pistol, magazines, and various ammunition types, including Caliber .45, .9mm, and .22 rounds.

All confiscated evidence was turned over to PIU, Camp Col. Juan Villamor, Calaba, Bangued, Abra, for documentation. Authorities continue to crack down on illegal firearms to ensure public safety. Investigations remain ongoing.
