Former Interior secretary Benhur Abalos filed his counter affidavit before the Department of Justice(DOJ) in response to the malicious mischief charges filed by Former President Rodrigo Duterte.
The complaints emanate from the controversial arrest of Philippine National Police (PNP) of Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy in Davao City last September this year.
Duterte filed two counts of malicious mischief against Abalos and PNP Chief Rommel Francisco Marbil.
The complaints were filed before Regional Trial Court Branch 15 in Davao City but it was transferred to the DOJ in Manila.
Before filing his counter affidavit Abalos faced the media and reiterated that the police were just doing their jobs and have done nothing wrong in arresting Quiboloy.
Duterte filed the case against Abalos and other respondents in his capacity as the property administrator of the KOJC.
