Paolo Panelo claims Duterte family accusers feel protected by administration

Atty. Paolo Panelo, spokesperson for Vice President Sara Duterte, said people making accusations against the Duterte family may be emboldened because they allegedly feel protected by the administration.

Panelo made the statement during an interview with Brigada News FM Manila.

He said their camp had tried several times to file cases against Ramil Madriaga, but the cases were dismissed by a court in Taguig.

Panelo also said their camp had strong evidence that Madriaga’s accusations were untrue. However, he said the court did not consider their perjury complaint.

According to Panelo, the situation is one reason their camp is being cautious about filing cases against individuals who make accusations against the Duterte family.

He said the legal team has encountered difficulties despite its efforts to pursue cases against Madriaga.

Panelo maintained that the evidence available to their camp contradicted the allegations made by Madriaga.

He added that the experience has prompted them to exercise greater caution when deciding whether to file legal complaints against those accusing members of the Duterte family.

Panelo’s statement centered on the legal challenges faced by the Duterte camp and his claim that alleged protection from the administration has emboldened their accusers.
