10 injured after car crashes into rugby supporters in Australia

Ten people, including three children, were injured after a car crashed into a crowd of rugby league supporters in Newcastle, Australia.

The incident happened as supporters gathered to see off the local Newcastle Knights ahead of their grand final match against the Sydney Roosters.

Officials said the 18-year-old driver, who was also a rugby fan, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the crowd.

A five-year-old girl and a 67-year-old man were among those in critical condition, while two other children were also injured.

Authorities took the driver into custody following the incident.
