Tricycle driver stabbed by minor in Bacolod City

A 48-year-old tricycle driver was injured after he was allegedly stabbed by a 17-year-old boy at a vulcanizing shop in Barangay Singcang Airport, Bacolod City, at about 7:10 p.m. on Sept. 30.

Police identified the victim as Marlon, who was reportedly repairing a flat tire of his tricycle at the shop when the minor, identified as alias Jun, approached him and invited him to drink alcohol.

According to police, during their interaction, the victim allegedly stared at Jun and made a threat before attempting to take a knife that was on the table.

The minor allegedly acted first and stabbed the victim in the back and neck.

Police Capt. Patrick Pol Lacandula, station commander of Police Station 8, told Brigada News FM Bacolod that Jun had been brought to the Women and Children Protection Desk, or WCPD, for appropriate intervention and disposition.

The owner of the vulcanizing shop, identified as alias Danilo, said he noticed the minor arrive at the establishment and also saw the stabbing incident.

The victim was immediately taken to a hospital for treatment and was reported to be in stable condition.

The incident occurred at the vulcanizing shop while the victim was repairing his tricycle’s flat tire. Police said the minor was subsequently brought to the WCPD for the appropriate process.
