Jordan Clarkson hopes to return to Gilas Pilipinas for FIBA World Cup

Filipino-American basketball star and NBA champion Jordan Clarkson is hoping to once again represent the Philippines and suit up for Gilas Pilipinas in the FIBA Basketball World Cup.

In a recent interview, Clarkson expressed his desire to play for the national team again, saying that representing the Philippines holds a special meaning for him.

The Utah Jazz guard has previously shared that playing for the country is also a way for him to honor the memory of his late grandmother, who had Filipino roots.

Clarkson last represented the Philippines in major international competitions during the 2018 Asian Games and the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

His return would give Gilas another experienced NBA-caliber player as the national team continues its campaign in international basketball.

Meanwhile, Gilas Pilipinas is scheduled to resume its FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers campaign this November as the team works toward securing a spot in the next edition of the tournament.
