The Philippine gymnastics team is setting its sights on four gold medals at the upcoming Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, including three in men’s artistic gymnastics and one in women’s artistic gymnastics.
Leading the Philippine squad is two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo, who is seeking his first Asian Games gold medal after an already decorated international career.
Despite having no Asiad gold medal yet, Yulo is expected to use it as added motivation as he looks to claim another major title at the quadrennial meet.
However, the men’s campaign will not rely solely on Yulo, with his 18-year-old brother Eldrew Yulo also set to make his Asian Games debut.
The women’s artistic gymnastics team will also aim for the podium, with Paris Olympian Levi Ruvivar and Asian Championship veteran Kylee Kvamme among those expected to lead the squad.
A total of 14 Filipino gymnasts will compete across artistic, rhythmic and trampoline gymnastics at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
