Singer-songwriter Yeng Constantino admitted that she regrets serenading Ryan Bang during her 20th anniversary concert at the Araneta Coliseum on August 29.
Yeng explained that the gesture was only meant to be playful, and she did not expect it to bring back painful memories for Ryan involving their past.
“I was being playful. Hindi ko nga rin po alam ang naging resulta ng aking aksyon at nag-cost nga na maungkat ang mga sugat,” Yeng said.
She also acknowledged that she failed to consider Ryan’s feelings in the moment, saying she felt regret after seeing how the incident affected him.
“I’m really regretful din in a way… Masakit. Kasi ako, parang nagbibiro ako. Playful ako masyado na hindi ako nakapag-isip nang maayos to consider his feelings,” she added.
Yeng said she immediately apologized to Ryan, and the two exchanged lengthy messages to talk about what happened.
Despite the incident, Yeng encouraged Ryan not to question his worth, reminding him that he deserves to be loved and cared for.
She also described Ryan as someone with a big heart and a great capacity to love.
Meanwhile, Yeng clarified that her husband, Yan Asuncion, did not get jealous after she was once again linked to Ryan.
She explained that her husband knows her well and understands that her serenade was simply part of a playful moment involving her former suitor.
