Twenty-nine students were affected by a suspected food poisoning incident at Tulalian National High School in Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte.
According to the Municipal Health Office, 23 students were brought to different hospitals after experiencing stomach pain, nausea, vomiting and dizziness.
Eighteen students were taken to Davao del Norte Hospital Carmen Zone, four were brought to Davao Regional Medical Center, while another student was transferred to a private hospital at the request of the parents.
Six other students were clinically cleared after showing no symptoms associated with food poisoning.
Following the incident, the Municipal Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit conducted an inspection at the school, including the school canteen and food vendors in the surrounding area.
Authorities also collected food samples from items considered potentially connected to the incident. The samples were submitted for laboratory analysis.
The cause of the suspected food poisoning has not yet been determined.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities await the results of the laboratory analysis.
