Man stabbed by neighbor in Dapitan City

A man suffered injuries after his neighbor stabbed him in Barangay Cawa-Cawa, Dapitan City, on August 22, 2026, that afternoon.

Residents immediately helped the victim and rushed him to a hospital after the stabbing around one o’clock that afternoon occurred.

According to Dapitan police, the victim had been drinking before the incident, while investigators continued determining what triggered the attack.

The suspect allegedly used a kitchen knife during the confrontation, striking the victim in the abdomen and causing his injuries.

Both the victim and suspect reportedly live in the same area, based on initial information gathered by responding police officers.

Police said the suspect remained under custody at the Dapitan City Police Station following the reported stabbing incident that afternoon.

Investigators continued examining the circumstances surrounding the incident to determine the exact motive behind the reported stabbing, according to authorities.
