Two people died after the motorcycle they were riding collided with a carabao in Barangay Guimbalaon early Aug. 23, 2026, police said.
The fatalities were identified as Edrian, 19, the motorcycle driver, and his backrider, known by the alias Janjan, who was of legal age. Both were residents of Silay City.
Initial police investigation showed that Edrian and Janjan were traveling from Silay Airport toward Barangay Guimbalaon proper when the front portion of their motorcycle accidentally collided with the left side of a carabao.
The force of the collision caused both riders to be thrown onto the concrete road, resulting in injuries.
They were immediately taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
Edrian was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
Janjan was also brought to the hospital following the crash but died later that afternoon, the same day.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Aug. 23 in Barangay Guimbalaon.
Police continued their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
Authorities have not provided further details on the condition or ownership of the carabao involved in the incident.
