At least 17 people were killed and more than 40 others were injured after Russia launched another ballistic missile attack on Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, and nearby areas on Wednesday.
Local authorities said eight of the fatalities were reported after a missile struck a railway station on the eastern outskirts of Kyiv.
In a separate attack, three workers at a postal sorting center were also killed.
According to Ukrainian officials, ballistic missiles struck warehouses, logistics centers, and other infrastructure facilities.
Although Ukraine’s air defense systems intercepted most of the Russian drones, officials said none of the ballistic missiles were shot down.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on allied nations to speed up the delivery of missile interceptors, saying they could help save more lives.
Meanwhile, Russia said its forces targeted logistics centers allegedly used to store drone components and other military equipment.
Both Russia and Ukraine continue to deny deliberately targeting civilians as the war drags on.
