President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. awarded ₱147,949,100 in financial assistance to the Davao de Oro Provincial Hospital-Montevista to support the purchase of additional medical equipment and the improvement of hospital facilities.
The assistance was formally received by Dr. Ferdinand Anthony Soberano, chief of the Davao de Oro Provincial Hospital-Montevista.
During his visit, Marcos toured several hospital departments, including the obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, non-infectious diseases, pediatrics, and outpatient departments. He also met with hospital personnel, where Soberano presented plans to improve the outpatient department reception area.
The hospital assistance formed part of the President’s visit to Davao de Oro, where he also attended the “Bawat Bayan Makikinabang” Program in Nabunturan.
During the program, Marcos said national development should be felt in every barangay through cooperation between the national and local governments.
The government also distributed agricultural assistance to beneficiaries, including a rice combine harvester, four-wheel tractors, motorized boats, 15,000 tilapia fingerlings, certified inbred rice seeds, and HDPE irrigation pipes intended to improve agricultural production in the province.
Marcos also visited the People’s Ville housing project in Calinan District, Davao City, under the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.
The socialized housing development covers more than 14 hectares and is expected to consist of 72 residential buildings with about 7,200 housing units. As of the visit, 26 buildings with 2,600 housing units had been completed, while more than 400 families had already moved into the project.
The housing development also includes community facilities such as a park, outdoor gym, multipurpose hall, and other shared amenities as part of the government’s housing program for Filipino families.
