DepEd thanks LGUs, private sector for boosting school security

The Department of Education (DepEd) has expressed its gratitude to local government units (LGUs) and private sector partners for their support in strengthening security measures in schools across the country.

The acknowledgment comes amid a series of reported incidents of violence in schools.

During an inspection of Alfonso Castañeda National High School in Nueva Vizcaya, Education Secretary Sonny Angara said external funding plays a vital role in acquiring modern security equipment.

These include CCTV cameras and metal detectors that can help ensure the safety of students, teachers, and school personnel.

According to Angara, this kind of unity and cooperation serves as a strong shield in protecting the youth from all forms of violence.

Aside from the inspection in Nueva Vizcaya, the Department also conducted inspections in various parts of the country.
