The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has launched search and rescue (SAR) operations to locate seven fishermen reported missing after their fishing vessel sank in the waters off Northern Rizal, Palawan.
According to Coast Guard District Palawan, the BRP Malapascua (MRRV-4403) was deployed on Tuesday evening, while the BN Islander 4177 aircraft joined the operation today to expand the search area.
Initial reports indicated that Fishing Banca NORNINA A departed on June 12, 2026, for a fishing expedition near Sabina Shoal with eight individuals on board.
