Ateneo de Davao boys’ basketball head coach Jess Evangelio announced that the wake of late student-athlete Rene Clert Baterbonia will be brought to Ateneo de Davao University Senior High School for a day.
In a Facebook post, Evangelio said the arrangement would give Rene’s friends, classmates, teachers, teammates, and supporters an opportunity to visit, offer prayers, and pay their final respects.
According to the coach, Rene touched many lives through his kindness, hard work, and love for the game.
“For those who would like to pay their respects and offer prayers for Rene, he will be brought to Ateneo de Davao University Senior High School for a day during his wake. This will give his friends, classmates, teachers, teammates, and supporters an opportunity to visit, pray, and honor his memory,” Evangelio said.
He added that many members of the Ateneo community have expressed their desire to bid Rene a final farewell and honor his memory.
Meanwhile, only Rene’s family members and close friends are currently allowed to visit and pay their respects during his wake in Quezon City.
