No extension for COC filing in BARMM parliamentary elections — Comelec

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has announced that there will be no extension for the filing of Certificates of Candidacy (COCs) for district representatives in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

According to Comelec Chairman George Garcia, candidates must file their COCs from May 5 until May 7.

He emphasized that the deadline will not be extended, citing a “very tight” schedule.

Any delays, he said, could affect election-related activities leading up to the September 14, 2026 polls.

On the first day of filing, the Bangsamoro Electoral Office recorded more than 20 candidates who had already submitted their COCs.
