A fire razed three houses in a residential lot at Asai Village on the morning of April 30, 2026.
Residents said the fire started around 9 a.m., after smoke was seen coming from a nearby house before flames quickly spread.
Neighbors immediately responded by fetching water from nearby taps, but their efforts failed to contain the fire that engulfed the homes.
Authorities identified the owners of the burned houses as Romeo Factor, Jose Joy Billaram, and Joel Factor, based on barangay records.
All three were reportedly at work when the incident happened and only returned home after learning about the fire.
An 11-year-old child of Romeo Factor sustained minor burns on the toe but did not require hospitalization, according to initial reports.
The child said the fire may have started from their kitchen area, though authorities have yet to confirm the exact cause.
Firefighters later declared the fire under control and temporarily closed the area to allow for further investigation.
Barangay officials also arranged temporary shelter for the affected families, who lost their homes in the incident.
Meanwhile, nearby residents expressed relief that the fire did not spread further, noting that a firewall helped prevent damage to adjacent units.
