Philippines Welcomes Arrival of Villa Vie MV Odyssey in Cebu Following Earthquake

The Villa Vie MV Odyssey has arrived in Cebu, just days after the magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck the province.

In a statement, the Department of Tourism (DOT) said that despite the recent calamity, Filipinos once again demonstrated their resilience and hospitality by warmly welcoming the cruise ship.

Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco expressed deep gratitude for the MV Odyssey’s visit.

She acknowledged that the past few days have been difficult for Cebuanos, but the cruise ship’s arrival in the Visayas has brought renewed hope.

According to her, the visit sends a message to the world that Cebu’s communities are open and ready for tourism.

She further emphasized that through commitment and collaboration, the Philippines aims to position itself as a central cruise hub in Asia.
