The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has dispatched nearly 13,000 family food packs (FFPs) to the Ilocos Region in preparation for Typhoon Paolo.
These supplies are in addition to the prepositioned food packs already stored at DSWD Field Office 1 in San Fernando, La Union.
According to the agency, the additional FFPs are meant to ensure that food supply will be sufficient should residents in the area require assistance.
The DSWD is working with volunteers from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in loading and transporting the relief goods.
Meanwhile, as of October 3, a total of 437,147 boxes of FFPs have already been distributed across NCR, Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Central Visayas, Western Visayas, Negros Island, Eastern Visayas, SOCCSKSARGEN, CARAGA, CAR, and BARMM for victims of recent typhoons.
