NGCP Assures Repairs on Power Lines Affected by Typhoon Opong

Several transmission lines went offline during the onslaught of Typhoon Opong.

According to the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), these include the Calbayog-Allen, Paranas-Quinapondan, Calbayog-Bliss, and Amlan-Siaton lines.

The NGCP said inspections and repairs will immediately be carried out in affected areas once weather conditions allow.

The corporation explained that power outages may be caused either by damaged transmission facilities under the grid operator or by distribution facilities of local distribution utilities or electric cooperatives.
