Kidnapped American vlogger believed dead

Authorities believe kidnapped American vlogger Elliot Eastman is dead, with witnesses and suspects recounting grim details of his abduction and alleged death.

According to Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) spokesperson Lt. Col. Ramoncelio Sawan, a witness revealed that Eastman sustained a gunshot wound to his leg before being taken by motorized banca from Sibuco, Zamboanga del Norte, on October 17, the same day he was abducted.

Initially dismissed as hearsay, the information gained credibility when a suspect arrested in November confirmed the witness’s account. The suspect disclosed that Eastman also sustained a gunshot wound to his abdomen. During the boat journey, the kidnappers reportedly realized he had died, prompting them to dump his body at sea.

While abduction charges have already been filed, prosecutors are considering adding murder charges based on the new revelations. Meanwhile, PRO-9 continues its search for Eastman’s remains to formally confirm his death.
