Man jailed after allegedly assaulting partner who refused intimacy

A delivery boy in Cebu City faces charges after allegedly assaulting his live-in partner for refusing to engage in intimacy.

The incident occurred around 4:00 p.m. on Monday, December 2, 2024, in Sitio San Vicente, Barangay Bulacao. The suspect, identified as “Chard,” 52, was arrested following a complaint from his partner, “Tina.”

Tina sought assistance from barangay officials, claiming Chard physically hurt her after she declined his advances. The suspect was subsequently brought to the Inayawan Police Station.

In an interview with Brigada News FM Cebu, Chard denied the allegations. He claimed he merely tapped Tina’s arm to initiate a conversation about their strained 18-year relationship. He added that their relationship had been “cold” for the past two years, which he hoped to address.
