Bato dela Rosa unfazed by ICC

Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa has stated that he plans to seek the Supreme Court’s (SC) assistance to clarify whether the International Criminal Court (ICC) still has jurisdiction over the Philippines.

This comes as the senator faces the possibility of an arrest warrant from the ICC in connection with alleged killings during the Duterte administration’s war on drugs.

Dela Rosa is one of the individuals under investigation regarding the violent anti-illegal drugs campaign, which allegedly involved human rights violations.

According to the senator, he has “no problem” if the SC rules that the country remains under the jurisdiction of the international court.

“I’ve been through many battles, and I’m no longer afraid to die,” he remarked.
