Authorities arrested a suspect and confiscated 44 kilograms of marijuana worth ₱5.2 million in a buy-bust operation early Saturday morning in Sampaloc, Manila.
The operation, conducted by the Sampaloc Police Station’s Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) at 12:20 a.m., was led by PMAJ Gil John Lobaton and PLTCol Brillante Billaoa.
Confiscated evidence included 44 blocks of marijuana sealed in transparent plastic, a yellow sack labeled “premium hog starter feeds,” and marked buy-bust money consisting of one real ₱500 bill and 20 counterfeit bills.
The seized marijuana, weighing 44,000 grams, was estimated to have a street value of ₱5,280,000.
The evidence has been sent to the Manila Police District Forensic Unit (MPDFU) for laboratory examination, while the suspect remains in police custody pending formal charges.
