3 impeachment complaints vs. VP Sara Duterte to reach Speaker’s office

Three impeachment complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte are set to be submitted to the office of House Speaker Martin Romualdez this week.

House Secretary General Reginald Velasco confirmed that he still holds the complaints but assured that the deadline for their transmission will be met within the week.

Velasco also noted that while some parties had requested a delay, enough time had already been given. Despite the 19th Congress nearing its close, he clarified that the impeachment complaints remain active.

According to Velasco, one-third of the House members could endorse the impeachment complaints at any time, which would send them directly to the Senate instead of undergoing deliberation in the Committee on Justice.

Additionally, Velasco confirmed that a fourth impeachment complaint is being planned. However, the proponents are still searching for endorsers.
