Three police officers from the Davao Oriental Police Provincial Office (DOPPO) tested positive for methamphetamine hydrochloride, commonly known as shabu, during a surprise drug test conducted by the Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11).
The test is part of the Philippine National Police’s ongoing internal cleansing campaign, following the directive of PNP Chief General Rommel Francisco Marbil.
In a statement, PRO 11 Regional Director Police Brigadier General Leon Victor Rosete emphasized the importance of accountability within the police force.
“This is a reminder that internal cleansing is a shared responsibility,” Rosete said. “Our goal is not just to detect violations, but to help our personnel stay on the right track.”
Administrative procedures have already been initiated against the three involved officers, in line with existing PNP policies.
PRO 11 stressed that it remains committed to upholding professionalism, integrity, and accountability in the police service. The agency assured the public that the internal cleansing campaign will continue across all units in the region.
